Taijiquan Overview

Taijiquan or Tai Chi Chuan, Supreme Ultimate Fist,  is one of the three primary internal martial arts. The internal martial arts or Neijia consist of Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, and Taijiquan. The Chen style was founded in the mid 16th century by Chen Wan Ting and kept secret until the 20th century. The other primary styles of Yang, Wu, and Sun were offshoots of the Chen style. The Chen style has retained its martial elements in addition to the associated health benefits. The Chen style is in part characterized by visible manifestation of fah jing energy. Techniques include wardoff, rollback, press, and push to name a few.
